FAQs

A career in truck driving is considered to be very lucrative in North America. The pay rates for a truck driver are amongst the best. As the supply chain and transportation expands quickly, truck drivers are in high demand and this profession will continue to thrive in the years to come.

A truck driver can be classified as an employee and a self-employed worker – based on your agreement with the employer/partner. This flexibility allows an individual to maximize their income.

At National Truck Driving School, you can get the truck driving license in as little as five weeks, after which you are ready for full-time employment with leading businesses in Canada.

With short haul trucking, a driver is expected to work a single day shift. At the end of their assigned shift, the driver is free to return to their homes.

With long haul trucking, the driver might be away from their home location for several days at a stretch. Based on the load and destination, a driver could be away for a few weeks or months at a time too. The driver may even need to cross over the Canadian borders and is expected to work with a partner during this time.

Given the ongoing commercial vehicle driver shortage in North America, trucking as a career offers job security. Supply Chain is the lifeline of North America and this means that the need for additional truck drivers will never die.

The other benefit is the ease of entry in this industry. With a course that can be completed in as little as five weeks with National Truck Driving School, getting a job right after graduating is never a challenge.

Truck driving is also considered a very profitable career choice in North America. In addition to a handsome pay, some transportation companies are now offering benefits to truck drivers too.

If you are passionate about travelling, then truck driving may be the career choice for you. In this profession, you can get to explore the length and breadth of not just your country but your neighbouring countries too.
